Service Description

Kamakura City is located on the west coast of the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture. Kamakura was the site where the Kamakura Shogunate, a political institution, was established during the Kamakura Period, when the first samurai in Japan came to power. For this reason, there are many spots associated with Minamoto no Yoritomo, the shogun who established the Kamakura Shogunate. Because of the strong connection between the samurai and Buddhism, there are many temples as well as shrines, and there are more than 100 temples in Kamakura. Among them, the highly prestigious temples called "Kamakura Gozan" are a must-see. Facing the sea to the south and surrounded by mountains on three sides (east, west, and north), Kamakura is also known as a scenic spot. In recent years, it has also become known as the sacred land of "Slam Dunk," a basketball manga popular not only in Japan but around the world.
